HANOVER, Md. – Maryland State police say a woman has been killed in a two-car crash in Hanover.
It happened Wednesday about 8:35 p.m. on Route 295. The driver of a sedan lost control of her vehicle, which crossed the median and struck another car.
The driver of the second car, 46-year-old Stacey Mechell Altvater of Landsdowne, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in her vehicle was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
The driver of the sedan, 52-year-old Francois Verleysen of Ellicott City, was also taken to Shock Trauma.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
