A man who pulled over on the side of U.S. 36 and got out of his car Sunday morning died after being hit by two other cars, according to Colorado State Patrol officials.
State patrol troopers responded to the crash on U.S. 36, near where it intersects with southbound Interstate 25, around 7:50 a.m. Sunday, officials said in a news release. The two highways intersect in Twin Lakes, east of Westminster and north of Denver.
Officials said a man driving a 2022 Toyota Corolla pulled over onto the right shoulder of U.S. 36 and got out of his car.
It’s not clear if he walked into the middle of the highway, but state patrol officials said the man was hit by two cars, one of which also hit the Corolla. Both drivers remained on scene and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
