Man and Woman in Critical Condition After Friday Night Shooting in Chicago

Two people were in critical condition after a shooting Friday night in the city’s Edgewater neighborhood, according to Chicago police.

The shooting took place around 10:50 p.m. in the 5800 block of North Kenmore Avenue, police said.

Officers received a call about a person being shot at an apartment, according to the Chicago Police Department. And when they arrived at the scene, the officers found two people with gunshot wounds.

The first was a man, 25, with a chest wound. He was treated by Chicago Fire Department personnel and taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition.

The second victim was a woman with a chin wound. She was also treated by the Chicago Fire Department and taken to the Lake View hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.

A gun was found at the scene. Nobody was in custody as of Saturday morning and area detectives were investigating the incident.
