Kettering Mobile Care to Pay Tuition, Wages Amid EMT Shortage

Kettering Health Network in Ohio will pay tuition and wages for new emergency medical technicians, according to a report.

The move is expected to help fill the gaps amid an EMT shortage in the area, the Dayton Daily News reported. Kettering Mobile Care transports patients between hospitals in the network and other outpatient facilities.

The classes begin January 6 and run for eight weeks.

Dereck Pristas, president of Kettering Mobile Care, said they will pay all tuition, books and fees — including for the National Registry — for 24 people. They will be paid during the training period.

Those who are selected and finish the program are guaranteed job at Kettering Health Network as a Mobile Care EMT.
