Crash in Woodford County killed three young people

WOODFORD COUNTY, Illinois – Local sources report that three people were killed after a crash between a vehicle and an ambulance in Woodford County on Saturday.
Illinois State Police stated the crash occurred at approximately 1:57 a.m. on Illinois Route 116 and County Road 2400 East, just east of Benson.
Killed in the crash were Morgan Ryder, 20, of Gridley who was driving the vehicle, 19-year-old Jared Seggerman of Minonk and 19-year-old Seth Unruh, of Pattonsburg.
A third passenger, a 21-year-old Minonk man, was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Police said Ryder’s vehicle was traveling southbound on County Road 2400 East, approaching Illinois Route 116, when it drove into the path of the ambulance traveling westbound.
The ambulance struck the vehicle on its driver’s side.
The driver of the ambulance, along with the patient being transported, were also transported to the hospital. Their conditions are not reported.
