SCOTTSDALE, AZ–Rural/Metro Corporation, a leading national provider of ambulance and private fire protection services, has been awarded a new contract to provide exclusive 911 ambulance services in Cass County, Indiana.
The five-year contract began April 2, following a vote last week of the Cass County Board of Commissioners to transition the system from a public to a private model.

Rural/Metro will operate as Cass County Emergency Medical Services, serving the cities of Logansport, Galveston, Onward, Royal Center and Walton, as well as more than two dozen townships and unincorporated towns within the 400-square mile county. Cass County is centrally located approximately 70 miles north of the Company’s current base of operations in Indianapolis and is a natural extension of the Company’s operations in Indiana.
