A Pittsburgh EMT needed to be extricated from her ambulance after a crash responding to a call on Monday, the city said.

Pittsburgh police, EMS and fire responded to a collision between a Pittsburgh EMS medic unit and a vehicle at the intersection of Oakwood Street at Bennett just before 2 p.m.

Arriving units found Medic 45 flipped on its side. A female EMT was extricated from the vehicle by EMS personnel and sent to the hospital in stable condition with injuries to her hand and pelvis.

The two other EMTs were able to leave the ambulance on their own and were taken to the hospital for evaluation.

The passenger in the other vehicle was also transported to the hospital by medics in stable condition. The driver was not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
