ST. JOSEPH, Mo.(KQTV) – Buchanan County’s new ambulance service took another step forward Thursday. The Regional Emergency Medical Service Authority, or REMSA, board decided that the ambulances will bear the name Buchanan County EMS. REMSA is managing the takeover of the service from Heartland hospital. The new service begins July 1. Voters in November passed a half cent sales tax to pay for the new county run ambulance service.
