Man Hurt When Van Crashes into DC Fire Ambulance

A man was critically hurt after the van he was driving crashed into a DC Fire and EMS ambulance, according to published reports.

Crash video shows the ambulance driving on Georgia Avenue near Farragut Street NW about 7:20 a.m. Wednesday. A white minivan going the opposite direction then veered and slammed into the side of the ambulance.

The driver of the minivan was freed by firefighters and listed in critical condition. Two medics in the ambulance were taken to a hospital but are OK.

There were no patients inside the ambulance. No further information was immediately available.
