GREENCASTLE, Pa. — A Greencastle man was charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly attacked EMS personnel while being transported Wednesday.
Greencastle Police Department and Rescue Hose Company No. 1 where called for an unresponsive person on South Carlisle Street at 9:43 p.m. Wednesday, according to Greencastle Police Department.
Adam Shaffer, 27, was transported by ambulance from the scene. While en route to the hospital, he “attacked EMS personnel in the ambulance,” police said.
Two volunteer EMT personnel from the Rescue Hose Company and a staff paramedic from Waynesboro ALS suffered minor injuries, police said.
Police responded to the assault and took custody of Shaffer. He was treated at Chambersburg Hospital before being turned over to Franklin County Probation pending arraignment, police said.
