Indiana EMT Dies While on Call

HIGHLAND, Ind. — EMT Charles Black died while on duty Aug. 10.

Black, who worked for Superior Ambulance, and his partner were helping another crew transport a patient home from Saint Margaret’s hospital. A second crew was called to assist in the transport because of difficulty in getting him inside his apartment, according to SupportingHeroes.org.

As four EMTs were moving the patient inside, Black suffered a fatal heart attack. He was 54 years old and is survived by his wife, Miavria, daughter Jackie, 11, and son Joe, 18.
