Hydrochloric Acid Leak Sends 22 Employees to Hospital

Twenty-two employees at Manchester Tank were taken to Blessing Hospital Tuesday morning after a small hydrochloric acid leak this morning at the production plant.

Several ambulances were dispatched and Tri-Township Fire Protection District crews responded about 8 a.m. to the company plant at 3400 Wismann Lane. Company officials say a piece of air-scrubbing equipment may have released fumes, but there was no actual spill.
