Ballston Spa, N.Y., Emergency Corps Wins $78,721 Grant

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.– The Community Emergency Corps of Ballston Spa will receive $78,721 from the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Association.

The organization will use the money for operating and safety expenses.

U.S. Rep. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-Greenport, said the ambulance corps was one of five local fire and emergency service departments in Saratoga, Greene and Delaware counties to get the grants.

The others were: Bovina Fire Department, Delaware County, $71,885; Davenport Fire Department, Delaware County, $172,900; Palenville Fire District, Greene County, $71,345; town of Catskill Ambulance Service, Greene County, $14,067.

AL Fire College Donates Ambulance to Pickens County

Pickens County, which has faced financial difficulties in maintaining emergency medical services, is receiving a donated ambulance from the Alabama Fire College.
