DETROIT — Two people, including a 14-year-old boy, have been charged in connection with the theft of a Detroit ambulance.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said Thursday that 18-year-old Marck Anthony Logan and a 14-year-old boy — whose name is not being released — are responsible for stealing the ambulance Tuesday night while it was parked outside a drug treatment center on Linwood Street.
Police said the two jumped into the vehicle and took off while medical staff were inside treating a man who was suffering from a seizure. The rig was recovered that same night at Steel Avenue near Plymouth Road and Wyoming Avenue on Detroit’s west side, police said.
Loganhas been charged with receiving and concealing stolen property more than $20,000, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison; unlawful driving away an automobile, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison; unlawful use of motor vehicle, a two-year misdemeanor, and resisting and obstructing a police officer, a felony punishable by two years in prison.
The juvenile has been charged with receiving and concealing stolen property more than $20,000, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and unlawful driving away an automobile, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
