Ambulance Overturns on Santa Monica (CA) Freeway, Injuring Two

An early-morning crash on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway left two people injured Saturday when an ambulance overturned near the Overland Avenue exit.

The Los Angeles Fire Department and California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the scene at approximately 1:45 a.m., CHP tells KTLA. The extent of the victims’ injuries or whether they were transported to a hospital for treatment remains unclear.

The incident temporarily shut down all westbound lanes of the freeway for about 30 minutes as emergency crews worked to manage the situation and clear the wreckage.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
