According to a report from WRAL, a Wake County, North Carolina, emergency medical services (EMS) ambulance struck a passenger car in Rolesville just after noon on Friday, May 21. The accident occurred at the intersection of Rogers Road and Jeffries Lane.
Rolesville police confirmed that a four-door sedan crossed the center line and hit the Wake County EMS ambulance head-on.
Two emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and one trainee were inside the ambulance. They were evaluated at an urgent care facility and released with no injuries. In addition, no patients were in the ambulance at the time.
The woman driving the car was transported to Wake Med and is expected to recover from any injuries, although none were indicated by officials. Police said they will charge her in causing the accident, although alcohol did not appear to be a factor.
The car and the ambulance were both heavily damaged. The impact knocked one tire off the ambulance and crumpled the driver’s side of the cab.
Jerry Page, whose home backs up to the road near the scene, says there have been at least five crashes there in the last eight years. He said that the curve on Rogers is a blind spot.
