ZOLL’s proprietary See-Thru CPR® technology also helps clinicians to minimize the duration of pauses in CPR by enabling them to see an organized, underlying rhythm.
The new ResQCPRâ„¢ System is a combination of two medical devices, the Cardio Pump® ACD-CPR Device and the ResQPOD® Impedance Threshold Device (ITD). The devices are used together during CPR to create an enhanced vacuum in the chest that improves blood flow to the brain and vital organs during states of low blood flow such as cardiac arrest. The two-device combination was shown in a large clinical trial to improve neurologically intact survival to hospital discharge from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest of cardiac etiology by 53% when compared to treatment with conventional cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).3

Symposium: “Managing the Everyday Critically Ill Patient in EMS”

In pre-hospital environments rescuers are confronted with a variety of patient conditions daily. Quickly deciding the appropriate treatment is critical to improving patient outcomes. Panelists who will share their experiences and strategies on how to manage the everyday critically ill patient in EMS include: Thomas Semmel, ERC ALS instructor, ERC educator, Third Chairman of the German Association of Paramedics; Richard Lyon, professor of Pre-hospital Emergency Care; and Nate Hinze, clinical educator for Airlink II, University of Colorado Health, USA, will be the featured speakers. Jerry Overton, Chair of the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch, will moderate the panel.
