ROCKVILLE, Md. (MyFoxDC) – Police in Montgomery County are showing off new medical equipment bought with a donation from a group of doctors.
The equipment is designed to provide emergency medical care at the scene. It includes nerve agent antidotes, materials to transport injured patients from a hazardous area and training equipment.
Police showed off the equipment and explained its importance during a news conference at 10 a.m. Thursday at the department’s Rockville headquarters.
The money to buy the equipment comes from the doctors of Medical Emergency Professionals, who collectively donated $7,000 to the Montgomery County Police Foundation. The donation came after a police volunteer who’s also a physician assistant mentioned to a doctor that more equipment would benefit the emergency services unit.
