Department moves out of the supply chain for N95 masks

The 3M 6000 Series Half Facepiece Reusable Elastomeric Respirator is the new mask FDNY members will wear while responding to emergencies across New York City.
This mask provides the same level of protections as the N95, while moving the FDNY out of the supply chain for N95 masks. Each FDNY member will be assigned their own mask, which they can clean and maintain.
It provides the user with an effective face seal and hold repeated use. These masks provide the same level of protection for members and the public that they serve.
