WASHINGTON (WJLA) – Washington D.C.’s Fire & EMS Department has launched its own inquiry after a fire truck, not an ambulance, was forced to transport a young patient in critical condition. The child later died at the hospital. A DCFEMS spokesperson says the agency is concerned that the closest available ambulance was 7 miles away.
