Ambulance in 10 Minutes! Indian Food App Begins Offering Ambulance Service

Blinkit, an ecommerce home delivery app operating in Indian cities, has ventured into healthcare by launching a private ambulance service, Digital Journal reports.

The service, which debuted Thursday in Gurugram, includes ambulances equipped with basic life-saving equipment and essential medicines, and will be staffed by trained medics.

The company CEO said the service would be offered at an affordable price. The app will allow patients to schedule an ambulance with a goal of having it available in 10 minutes.

The initial rollout includes five ambulances, with plans to expand to major cities within the next two years.

While the scale is modest, the initiative represents a significant development in a country where only 3 percent of ambulances have trained paramedics.
