A motorist was hospitalized Friday evening after they were ejected from their vehicle during a rollover crash on Middle Street, officials said.

Emergency crews responded around 10 p.m. to the 200 block of Middle Street to investigate a report of a single-vehicle crash, according to the Westfield Fire Department.

Sgt. Brian E. Hubbs, a spokesperson for the Middletown Police Department, said medics transported the driver to Hartford Hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening. No other injuries were reported, officials said.

A video shared on Facebook by fire department officials shows the badly damaged vehicle came to a rest on its side. Officials said the crash destroyed power lines along the road.

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash. Hubbs said it is under investigation and that officers want to interview witnesses to the crash.
