Crash Kills Groom & Groomsman Two Days Before Wedding

FILLMORE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) – A southwest Michigan man preparing for his weekend wedding and his future brother-in-law were killed when the SUV they were riding in went airborne and slammed into a house.

The crash near Holland that killed Chad Bradbury, 24, and Michael Stille, 22, was being investigated Friday by police, who said wet road conditions and speed appeared to be factors.

An announcement in The Holland Sentinel listed Saturday as the wedding day for Bradbury and Samantha Stille, the newspaper reported.

Bradbury picked up his tuxedo just before the Thursday evening crash and was headed to dinner with friends, according to The Grand Rapids Press.

He and Michael Stille were passengers in the Chevy Trailblazer that left the roadway about 6:45 p.m. in Allegan County’s Fillmore Township. The 25-year-old driver was injured and treated at an area hospital.

The Trailblazer hit a ditch before hitting the house. The driver was able to escape but Bradbury and Stille were trapped inside the vehicle.

The Stilles are related to the owners of the Holland Peanut Store, which was closed Friday, the Sentinel reported.

“Our family has suffered an unbearable loss of two loving people in a tragic accident. We will be closed for the weekend,” read a sign in the downtown shop’s window.
