Crash in West Englewood (IL) Leaves Three Injured After Semi Hits Ambulance

A collision at the intersection of 63rd Street and Ashland Avenue involving an ambulance sent three people to the hospital Saturday.

The crash, which occurred just before 11:30 a.m., involved a semi-truck that collided with an emergency vehicle. The force of the accident flipped the ambulance and partially landed it on two nearby cars, CBS Chicago reports.

A patient in the ambulance, a 64-year-old man, was taken to the hospital along with two other drivers. All three are expected to recover.

The driver of the truck received a citation for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.
