San Bernardino County Fire Department – The San Bernardino County Fire Department’s approach is designed to identify potentially infectious disease situations, while providing for the our patients and our personnel.

When you call 911, the call taker will ask you a set of scripted questions. The call taker will ask the patient to step outside to minimize first responder exposure to COVID-19. The patient may be asked to put on a surgical mask, if they are able.

A single paramedic will approach the patient wearing a protective suit, eye protection, mask, and gloves. If additional assistance is necessary, remaining first responders will approach to assist. After each call, County Fire personnel decontaminate, disinfect, or discard personal protective equipment.

Please help us limit the spread and flatten the curve. Your best defense against the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is to practice social distancing. Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay home.
