SHARPSBURG, Pa. — A small EMS squad five miles northeast of downtown Pittsburgh is fighting for its survival.
The Sharpsburg Borough council is seeking proposals from other entities to take over duties from the Seneca Area Emergency Services, according to a report in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
At issue is the fact that Seneca cannot always have a paramedic on an ambulance during every emergency call. The newspaper reports many people in the community are against replacing Seneca with another service.
The council is scheduled to discuss the matter more at its Oct. 24 meeting.
