Vice President Biden Invites First Responders to Join Jobs-Related Conference Call

Fairfax, Va., September 9, 2011–Following President Obama’s speech to a joint session of Congress, Vice President Biden is inviting American fire service personnel to join him for a conference call on Monday, September 12 to discuss the Administration’s commitment to keeping firefighters on the job.

The Vice President’s Office has asked the IAFC to share this information with its members to ensure responders across the country have the opportunity to participate. Please note this is an opportunity for first responders only.  It is closed to members of the press.

The American Jobs Act includes $5 billion to support the hiring and retention of public safety and first responder personnel. By supporting such jobs, the plan aims to keep communities safe from crime and able to maintain critical emergency response capabilities.
