EMS Today 2017 is just around the corner, and we’re excited to have you join us in Salt Lake City. To help you make the most of your time in Ski City, USA, we’ve put together this guide to survive–and thrive–at EMS Today.
- Download the EMS Today app for your mobile phone. This is your on-site guide to everything the show has to offer. Look up the sessions you want to attend, mark them as favorites and add them to your calendar. View the floor plan and exhibitor listings, including key product information to help you plan your time on the exhibit floor. Receive notifications of important event changes and updates, and share your #EMSToday2017 experience with your social media networks.
- Register for pre-conference workshops. This year we’re offering some of the most exciting pre-cons to date, including off-site rescue workshops taking place on the slopes of local ski resorts. Clinical workshops include our always-popular cadaver lab, 12-lead ECG recognition skills, airway management fundamentals and a presentation from the Global Resuscitation Alliance.
- Register for a ride-along. Salt Lake City is home to some of the country’s finest EMS and specialty rescue response agencies. Register for your chance to learn first-hand from the esteemed medics at Salt Lake City Fire Department, Gold Cross Ambulance, Unified Fire Authority and more.
- Enter to win a 2017 Polaris Ranger 570XL. Visit the registration desk or the PennWell booth to pick up an entry form, visit all of the sponsor companies and get the entry form stamped, then return the completed form to the PennWell booth (booth 1940) by 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25. One lucky winner will be drawn at random from the completed entries. It could be you!
- Add to your EMS bookshelf. Meet the authors and pick up signed copies of the books you’ll come back to time after time. On Thursday, Feb. 23 at 5:30 p.m., meet “Clincy” from the popular comic EMScapades. He’ll be signing copies of his first book Let the EMScapades Begin! at the special events stage. Then on Friday, Feb. 24 at 1:00 p.m., meet Kevin Grange, award-winning author of the memoir Lights and Sirens: The Education of a Paramedic.
- Plan your continuing education hours. With more than 330 CEHs offered, the only difficult part of earning or renewing your certification is fitting all the sessions into your schedule! Check out our conference schedule and program to determine which courses you need and plan your time accordingly.
- Don’t miss the JEMS Games. An EMS Today favorite every year, the JEMS Games is a clinical care competition you don’t want to miss. The preliminary competition takes place Wednesday, Feb. 22 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is open to all attendees. The dramatic final competition will be held in Ballroom on Friday, Feb. 24 starting at 6:00 p.m. Earn one hour of continuing education credit for attending the finals, and learn quality and compassionate care tactics from our expert presenters.
- Visit the exhibit hall. The pace of progress in EMS technology isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Get your hands on the latest and greatest products our exhibitors have to offer–from ePCR software to simulation manikins that actually bleed, you’re sure to find that one component your agency has been needing.
- Get your hands dirty at the Hands-On Experience & Learning Center. Test drive new equipment and products, learn new skills and put them to the test in our all-new Hands-On Experience & Learning Center. Located in the exhibit hall, this experience is open to all attendees to help you harness cutting-edge simulation techniques and improve your on-the-job performance and clinical decision making.
- Network, network, network. When you get nearly 5,000 EMS professionals together in one city, magic is bound to happen. On Thursday, Feb. 23, mix and mingle at our opening reception in the exhibit hall, and keep the party going at the ZOLL ShockFest starting at 8:00 p.m. at The Depot. Did we mention free drinks?
