The Grand Chute Fire Department has officially launched its own ambulance service, moving away from relying on the regional provider, Gold Cross Ambulance.
The department has invested $667,000 into the program, purchasing three new ambulances, hiring six new staff members, and acquiring additional equipment.
The cost is expected to be offset through ambulance fees, with transportation fees set at $1,300 for residents and $1,700 for non-residents.
The new ambulance service will be staffed by 40 first responders, with one position still remaining open.
