Spotlight on Aarron Reinert

In June, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that Aarron Reinert, executive direc­tor for Lakes Region EMS, will chair the 24-member National Emerg­ency Medical Services Advisory Council (NEMSAC). Before taking the position at Lakes Region EMS, Reinert was the field services manager for the Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board, where his projects included creating and implementing a statewide, Web-based data collection system.

 

Nationally, Reinert is considered an expert in EMS data collection and an authority in leadership training for current and future leaders in EMS. He pioneered the use of the Balanced Score Card within ambulance services. Prior to his appointment, he served as a state EMS data manager. A paramedic for 18 years, Reinert holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and is a consultant for public safety communications and EMS data collection. He is also a partner in SafeTech Solutions.

 

Established in 2007, the National Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council provides expert advice to the Department of Transportation and the Federal Interagency Committee on key issues regarding EMS management, safety, research and EMS system improvement and sustainability.
