Hiring Range

TRAINEE PARAMEDIC :               $19.8817  Hourly

CLEARED PARAMEDIC:               $22.4993 Hourly

Experience Pay for new hires with verified pre-hospital related experience:

1 to 2 years full-time experience = 1% above starting rate

3 to 5 years full-time experience = 2% above starting rate

6+ years full-time experience = 4% above starting rate

Shift Differential

Employees assigned will receive an additional $1.25 per hour for hours worked between 10pm and 4am which will increase to $1.85 per hour on October 1, 2023.

Note:  All Paramedics will be in a trainee status and paid accordingly until they are cleared by the Volusia County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Medical Director and cleared to function as a lead paramedic on a VCEMS ambulance through the internal clearing process.

Perform assessment and treatment consistent with the United States Department of Transportation National Standard Curriculum for Emergency Medical Technician – Basic and Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic pursuant to and in accordance with standing orders promulgated by the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Medical Director or his or her designee.

Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots equipment utilized for pre-hospital assessment and care.

May provide clinical oversight and written evaluations for students/trainees from affiliated emergency medical service training programs.

EMTs – Eagle County Paramedic Services seeks EMT professionals to join our field staff; we seek candidates for three different shifts:

Full time positions:

Day Car: three, 12-hr shifts per week

Swing Shift Seasonal: three, 14-hr shifts per week 5 p.m. – 7 a.m. Winter seasonal, full time.

Part-time position:

ed Pool: Expected schedule of 3-4 duty shifts (12-24 hr) and 2-3 on call or special event shifts per month

Paramedics – Eagle County Paramedic Services (ECPS) seeks paramedics to join our field staff to help fulfill our mission of providing skilled, professional and compassionate healthcare to our community. We seek candidates for:

Full time Day Shift: three, 12-hr shifts per week

Med Pool (part time): Expectation is to work an average of one shift (12 hr or 24hr) per week. The minimum number of shifts required to maintain good standing is 10, 12 or 24 hr shifts and three on call or special events per quarter. When field training is determined to be needed, additional shifts may be required. Note: More than an average of 30 hours/week within a month is not allowed.

Paramedics administer basic and advanced life support to sick and injured persons in the out-of-hospital setting under the direction of the District Medical Director utilizing District protocols. As a Paramedic, the successful candidate will take the lead on 911 calls, direct EMT partners, be responsible for patient care and complete patient care reports.

Home Health Project Manager

Eagle County Paramedic Services (ECPS) seeks a Project Manager to join our Community Health Department. Though the person in this position is employed by ECPS, they will work closely with the Eagle Valley Home Health Collaborative. This position is a TEMPORARY, FULL TIME position that has secured funding for one year.

This role primarily involves leading the operationalization of the “Expansion of Home-Based Health Services” population health initiative to form a multi-agency collaborative in our service district to address the comprehensive home health needs of individuals living in this community. This would include establishing the collaborative and home health licensure under Eagle County Health Service District, while also establishing a referral and coordination network to address immediate community needs.

Clinical Manager

The BLS (Basic Life Support) Educator provides instruction and training in BLS techniques to healthcare professionals, first responders and other individuals who require certification in BLS. Community Health Technician

Here is a typical day: The Community Health Technician will start their by checking in with the Community Health team and community partners to establish priorities and goals for patient care. This lasts typically 2-3 hrs. and is completed in one day. Other position candidates who pass the virtual screening will be invited for an in person interview consisting of two parts: 1. management interview panel, 2. peer interview panel.

Conditional Offer Letters Sent: 9/8/23 – 9/12/23. Offer letters will be sent during this timeframe for all currently open positions. All other candidates will be notified of their status and placement on hiring lists for future needs. When ECPS has an open position, we will refer to the hiring list and contact eligible candidates. All conditional offers of employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation, social security check, reference check and drug screen. 

New Hire Academy: 10/3/23-10/5/23. New Hire Academy will be a 2-3 day event at our Edwards Administrative office location and Gypsum station.

Driver and Field Training: Begins 10/6/23. Driver and field training begins right after New Hire Academy, scheduled individually. For full time paramedics and EMTs, field training generally lasts 4-5 months. For Med Pool (part time), field training generally lasts for 5-6, 12-hour shifts and one 24-hour shift.

Job Summary:

LifeFlight’s Helipad Transport Team is a key component of the patient flow system at Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital. This team assists incoming aircraft with patient off-load and transport to receiving units and provides important updates to the receiving units. In many cases, the team will assume patient care on the helipad from the transporting aircraft teams.

Department Summary

Vanderbilt LifeFlight has transported more than 45,000 patients since it began in 1984. LifeFlight is a key part of a trauma system that includes pre-hospital care, definitive care, rehabilitation and injury prevention. Vanderbilt LifeFlight is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Trauma Systems (CAMTS).

LifeFlight operates as a community asset and will transport to any appropriate hospitaland has immediate access to Level I Trauma Center, Burn Center and Children’s Hospital, all at Vanderbilt.

All air operations are provided by Air Methods Corporation. Vanderbilt University Medical Center provides all medical staffing, patient care, and clinical services.

LifeFlight provides service via nine helicopters (eight bases and one helicopter serves as backup), one fixed-wing aircraft (airplane), and 28 ground ambulances. There are eight air bases located in Gallatin (Sumner County), Tullahoma (Coffee County), Clarksville (Montgomery County), Murfreesboro (Rutherford County), Mt. Pleasant (Maury County), Paris (Henry County), Cookeville (Putnam County) and Humboldt (Gibson County). There are four ground ambulance bases in Davidson, Wilson, Montgomery, and Coffee counties. There is an airplane base in Wilson County.

These assets provide rapid access to definitive care for all of Middle Tennessee, parts of West and East Tennessee, Southern Kentucky, and Northern Alabama.
