OH EMS Chief Dies While On Duty

Mark Miller, EMS Chief for Wayne Township (OH) Fire & Rescue, died suddenly Sunday while on duty, the department said.

Details surrounding his untimely passing were not disclosed.

“It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our EMS Chief, Mark Miller,” according to the Facebook post. “Please keep his family, friends and our department members in your thoughts and prayers during this tragic time. Rest easy Chief, we will take it from here. Thank you for all of your dedication and years of service. We will miss you!”

Miller, a U.S. Navy veteran, “will be tremendously missed,” the Waynesfield Police Department wrote on Facebook.

“His over 30 years of selflessly serving multiple communities and his country simply cannot be replaced. Mark may no longer be with us on Earth, but his legacy will never be forgotten.”

Funeral arrangements are pending. Township officials have ordered flags to fly at half-mast in his honor.
