Paramedic Charged with Murder in Highway Death

FORDSVILLE, Ky. — A western Kentucky paramedic has been charged with murder and leaving the scene of an accident.

Kentucky State Police said Thursday they’ve arrested 29-year-old Brian Bellamy in the death last Friday of 33-year-old Antone Wilkins of Fordsville.

Police say Wilkins was killed after being hit by Bellamy’s vehicle on Kentucky 54 north of Fordsville in Ohio County.

Bellamy was being held at the Ohio County jail on $100,000 bond. It’s unclear whether Bellamy is represented by a lawyer.

Police say Bellamy is a paramedic in Hopkinsville, but a county dispatcher there says Bellamy works for a private ambulance company. No one answered the company’s phone Thursday night.
