Ohio County EMS Chief Accused of Scamming Residents

Additional charges are pending against an Oak Grove man accused of scamming local residents out of more than $11,000.

Set to be arraigned today on fourth- and fifth-degree felony theft charges, Ryan D. Pracht, 31, of 114 Westchester Drive, is also accused of using his position as president of Washington County EMS to illegally collect money, according to investigators.

Pracht was arrested Friday after it was reported he had received a total of $10,900 from two individuals in December for flat screen televisions that were never delivered.

Officers said they believe that number is likely to rise and on Sunday, a neighbor of the man reported she had also been taken for nearly $500 after he promised to deliver her a laptop computer. She said she made payment in late November.
