Louisville, Ky.–Patty Greer was fired from her position as EMT for Louisville Metro EMS. She believes she was fired for speaking out about excessive mandatory overtime. However, Louisville Metro EMS Chief of Staff Kristen Miller says it was due to violation of their agency’s policies. Greer reportedly dozed off while entering data at a patient’s home.
“[When someone] violates a procedure or policy that puts a patient at risk … those things are going to have to be addressed,” says Miller.
