OCALA, Fla. — A week after four part-time Emergency Medical Services Alliance employees were arrested by an Ocala Police Department detective and charged with grand theft, a fifth person has also being arrested by the same detective.
Authorities said Thursday that John F. Townsend, 40, of The Villages Department of Public Safety, turned himself into Detective Stephen J. Thibodeau at 8:37 p.m. Wednesday at the Marion County Jail where he was charged with grand theft.
Jail records indicate that Townsend has been released on $2,000 bail.
In his report, Thibodeau said on July 8th, he met with EMSA Chief David Palmer and Palmer told him that he wanted to report a grand theft that involved part-time pool employees at EMSA.
