A Cliffside Park emergency medical technician was charged Thursday with purposeful destruction of patient care medical records over a two-month period last year, authorities said.
The 20-year-old, who lives in New York, was charged with fourth-degree purposeful destruction, alteration or falsification of a record relating to care of a medical patient, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.
Investigators with the prosecutor’s Confidential Investigations Unit received information on Nov. 22, 2024, that reports and charts associated with medical calls for service in Cliffside Park had been destroyed.
An investigation revealed the EMT allegedly destroyed records between September 2024 and November 2024.
He was arrested in Paramus on Thursday and released on a summons to appear in court.
