Mohegan (NY) EMS Recruits 35 New Volunteers, Credits Creative Strategy

As fire and EMS agencies nationwide grapple with staffing shortages, Mohegan EMS has successfully recruited 35 new volunteers since April by implementing innovative strategies.

According to Westchester News 12, Chief Matt Kness credits the success to offering flexible hours, recruiting at community events, and streamlining the application process online.

Kness told the station he hopes what the department has learned can help other agencies facing similar challenges. The creative approach demonstrates how adaptability and outreach can help attract dedicated individuals to emergency services.
