Dr. George Hatch, CoAEMSP Executive Director, and Dr. Mike Miller, Assistant Director, met with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, State Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council, on September 26, 2023, in Jefferson City, Missouri.

An invitation was extended by Dr. Lynthia Andrews Bowman, Advisory Council Chair, and Chuck Doss, Chair of the Education Subcommittee to meet with EMS leaders and educators to engage in a conversation regarding accreditation services and EMS education broadly.

Attendees participated in person and virtually via web-conference. During the 90-minute session topics of conversation included workforce challenges, access to paramedic education in rural communities, site visits, plans for AEMT accreditation, costs of accreditation services, and more. We were excited to have Dr. Bridgette Svancarek, MD, and Kim McKenna, PhD, two CoAEMSP Board members from Missouri attend the meeting.

Thank you to the Missouri State Advisory Council on EMS for hosting us at their meeting and to all who work in support of EMS education and clinical services throughout Missouri.
