Kentucky Air Guard Providing Medical Support at Nursing Homes During COVID-19 Crisis

Because of emergency staffing issues at a Covington, Kentucky, nursing home, a team of four medics and one registered nurse from the Kentucky Air Guard are now providing medical support during the coronavirus pandemic, according to a report from ABC affiliate WHAS11.

The crew reported for duty at the Rosedale Green Nursing Home and began assisting this past Sunday, providing several daily care activities for elderly residents such as feeding, hygiene, and physical requirements. The registered nurse is ensuring patients get their medications and is also administering insulin. 

Before this assignment, the team was helping at the Alternate Care Facility in Louisville as well as providing its current support. The military medical crew will remain in place to until the facility develops solutions to their staffing.
