Bringing back disturbing memories during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, New York City paramedics tell the New York Post they are seeing an uptick of seriously ill patients.
“The patients calling in with fever and cough are a lot younger – in their 20s and 30s,” the paramedic told the newspaper.
“There are people who are getting together and not wearing masks. They are not practicing social distancing. All it takes is one person to spread it,” the paramedic said.

Despite this, the city’s Health Department reports a “slight increase” in emergency department visits.
An FDNY spokesman told the Post its call volume has been down for months.
