Victor A. Convertino, PhD, is a senior research physiologist at the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. His professional career has taken him to positions at NASA's Ames Research Center, the Stanford University School of Medicine, the University of Arizona, NASA's Kennedy Space Center, and the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory before assuming his present position. Dr. Convertino is a contributor to many areas of research and has published over 290 peer-reviewed manuscripts, invited reviews and chapters in the scientific literature. He has received numerous awards, including the JEMS EMS 10: Innovators in EMS Award in 2014.
