Subroto Das, MD
Subroto Das, MD, an Ashoka Scholar and Eisenhower Fellow for EMS and chair, South and Central Asian Chapter of Asian Association for EMS, is an EMS pioneer in South Asia and the only Indian to be honored with the Asian EMS Lifetime Achievement Award by the Asian EMS Council. He's worked with the 108 system in India and helped to develop the 110 system in Sri Lanka, in addition to working with EMS stakeholders in Turkey, Bangladesh and Nepal. He also serves as the managing editor of the Asian EMS Journal. This year, the government of India conferred him with the Padma Shri, one of India's highest civilian honors, for his work on highway trauma care.
