Steven Harrison, AAS, TEMS, EMT-P, is the team leader for one of the eight Type II state medical assistance teams in North Carolina. He has worked in EMS and the fire service since 1981. He began his career in disaster medicine in 2002, joining the SORT and NC-1 DMAT. He was selected to become a member of the NMRT-E, which was one of only four mass decon federally supported teams in the country, where he served as the Medical Holding Officer until 2009. Harrison has led medical strike team missions, responded to many National Security Events with NMRT-E and participated in multiple hurricane deployments with the DMAT.
