I owe my career to the selfless medics who founded the 911 Emergency Services Explorer Post in Santa Barbara, California, and to director Jim Holbrook at Crafton Hills Paramedic Program in Yucaipa. My wife and I raised two children in rural East Tennessee, where I practice as an ER physician and remain active in the BSA, EMS, and the fire service.
