Eric Ernest, MD, EMT-P, is division chief of Prehospital and Emergency Medical Services, as well as an associate professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is the medical director for the Bellevue, Elmwood, Nehawka, Weeping Water and Greenwood fire departments and the state medical director of Nebraska EMS. He is also the medical director for the Cass County Emergency Management Agency and Sarpy County Dispatch Center. He is the assistant medical director of the Omaha Fire Department and Creighton EMS Education. He was fellowship-trained in emergency medical services at Regions Hospital, St. Paul, MN. His research and professional interests include resuscitation, airway management, and rural emergency medical services.
