Brian J Maguire, Dr.PH, MSA, EMT-P
Dr. Brian J. Maguire is a medical research laboratory senior epidemiologist for Leidos, and an adjunct professor at Central Queensland University (CQU) in Australia. His doctoral degree in public health is from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and he has a master's degree in health administration from Central Michigan University. His positions in academia have included being a research center director, graduate program director, distance education coordinator, and a full-time professor at CQU from 2012 to 2018. He is a Senior Fulbright Scholar and has presented his research in 12 countries. Since 2010, he has been a member of the CDC, NIOSH, National Occupational Research Agenda, Public Safety Council. From 2006 to 2008, he was a consultant for a U.S. Department of Homeland Security, bioterrorism and pandemic preparedness program. Dr. Maguire's over 100 publications include articles and book chapters in the areas of epidemiology, emergency medical services systems, violence, occupational safety, occupational risks for women, health administration, public health, database design, disaster management, and education. Brian began his career in New York City and worked for two decades in the city's health care system as an agency president, hospital department head, city-wide paramedic training coordinator, emergency medical services operations officer, educator, researcher and paramedic.
