Paramedic

Baldwin Area EMS

The Village of Baldwin, WI (pop. 3,961) is accepting applications for a full-time paramedic position for the Baldwin Area Ambulance Service. We are a Critical Care Paramedic Service located in western WI.  We average 1,800 calls per year and cover approximately 240 sq. miles of both urban and rural areas.  We are offering a variety of schedule options.

DUTIES:  Duties include on-call time for 911 emergencies and/or transports. Other duties will include incident command on-scene, providing ALS intercepts with BLS services when requested, Truck checks and cleaning, teaching CPR for health care providers and the public, and other department duties.  Position reports directly to EMS Chief.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be U.S. citizen; valid WI driver’s license and a good driving record; must be 18 years of age or older; current CPR, National Registry at Paramedic level with current ACLS and PALS certifications also required.

WAGES/BENEFITS:  Hourly wage DOQ; competitive benefit package is offered.

Paramedic

County of Volusia

We are seeking Paramedic candidates to provide pre-hospital basic and advanced life support care and transport for the ill or injured throughout Volusia County. The preferred candidate, having met the minimum requirements, will have a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a paramedic in a 9-1-1 based system or Emergency Room (ER) setting or be currently employed by Volusia County EMS as an EMT. 

TRAINEE:  The trainee rate is $ 17.38

All Paramedics will be in a trainee status and paid accordingly until they are cleared by the Volusia County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Medical Director and cleared to function as a lead paramedic on a VCEMS ambulance through the internal clearing process. New-hire paramedics will also receive the second installment of their signing bonus once they are cleared by the EMS Medical Director.

Paramedic

Provides emergency pre-hospital medical care.  Prepares necessary reports as required.  Maintains emergency vehicle inventory of medical supplies.  Maintains condition of ambulance and station.  Maintains territory maps and updates as needed.  Acts as lead person on unit when required.  Assists and/or instructs other employees with their duties.  Signs for and is held responsible for equipment used.  Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED; Certified Paramedic.  Six months full time employment as a Paramedic.  Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.  Interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials.  Ability to complete projects.  Applicants must pass the Fort Bend County Emergency Medical Services entrance written and skills examination.  Subject to emergency call-in.  Valid Drivers License.

SALARY RANGE: EMS Grade P-1, $2,174.04 – $2,557.84 biweekly based on qualifications

The EMT Safety Officer performs daily door monitoring checks and conducts scheduled internal and external rounds. He/she is responsible for responding immediately to all emergency situations in the community and is required to demonstrate the acts and principles of exemplary customer service to all internal and external customers at all times.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

Responds immediately to all emergency situations at the community. Practices proper First Responder protocols and life safety policies and procedures.

Assists the Safety Director with random mock testing and training of staff to ensure emergency preparedness. The EMT Safety Officer is the highest trained medical response officer within the Safety Department.

Makes scheduled rounds across the community, both inside and outside the buildings, to maintain a secure environment for residents and their property, employees, as well as company property. Medical bag/A.E.D. should always accompany EMT Safety Officer making rounds.

Receives all persons who enter the Community at the Safety Kiosk in a courteous manner, informs, guides, directs or otherwise assists residents, visitors, staff or vendors tactfully and congenially to protect and present the best possible image of the Community.

Assists with daily door monitoring checks, maintains departmental emergency equipment and supplies to ensure proper functioning, ensures compliance with policies & procedures and reports all discrepancies and unsafe conditions to the Safety Director.

Regularly maintains contact/communication with other Safety personnel during the course of the shift.

The EMT Safety Officer is required to demonstrate the acts and principles of exemplary customer service/hospitality to all internal and external customers at all times. Responding to and documenting customer complaints in a professional manner.
