West Point, PA

This role entails:

Evaluation of workplace injuries, evaluation of minor acute episodic illness/injury that is non-occupational, medical surveillance testing/clearances, drawing blood, administering immunizations in collaboration with a nurse practitioner/physician.

Entering proper and complete documentation of patient encounters into the electronic medical record. Responding to acute medical emergencies, following Pennsylvania state ALS protocols and under the guidance of the medical command physician.

The schedule involves 12 hour shifts with both weekend and weeknight shift requirements.

Paramedic/Part-Time Paramedic

Elko County Ambulance Service (ECAS) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Paramedic. Paramedic will perform duties associated with providing rescue services and emergency medical care to the sick and injured in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Elko County Ambulance Service policies and protocols. Paramedics generally work 40-48 hours per week, as assigned. This position has been identified as safety sensitive and will be required to successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as well criminal background check. As a condition of continued employment, will be required to successfully pass random drug and alcohol screening. Must pass a thorough medical examination and recertify every two (2) years.

The purpose of this position is to protect lives and property of the members and visitors of South Walton through fire suppression activities, emergency medical care, fire prevention, safety activities and education.  Successful performance results in increased public safety and decreased property loss. To accomplish this, firefighters perform firefighting work in combating, extinguishing and preventing fires; provide emergency medical care to the sick and injured; operate and maintain apparatus and equipment.

Answer ambulance calls, calmly, efficiently and promptly and comply with State regulations and Green County Emergency Medical Services Inc. guidelines and policies.

Provide the appropriate emergency patient care in scope with the State of Wisconsin standards and procedures for Emergency Medical Technicians.

Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of all equipment carried in the ambulance.

Perform appropriate clean up and disposal of contaminated items when necessary.

Perform filling technique of oxygen canisters as needed.

Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Communicate as needed to any of the following:

  • Emergency Medical Technicians.
  • Law Enforcement Personnel.
  • Fire Personnel.
  • Family Members of Patients.
  • Hospital Personnel.

Lifts, carries and transports injured, sick or incapacitated persons from residence to medical facility.

Provide emergency medical treatment  to the injured and sick.

Knowledge of operating equipment in medical emergency vehicle.
