Executive Director

Reading Emergency Unit

The Executive Director acts as the Chief Executive Officer of the non-profit organization to provide emergency medical services and other special services, by performing duties or through subordinate management and supervisors. The Executive Director is responsible for overall management and direction of the organization in accordance with its vision, mission and direction from the board.

The Executive Director works under the direct oversight of READING EMERGENCY UNIT, INC. Board of Directors, and reports to the President of the organization.

The Executive Director provides oversight and overall management, planning, vision and leadership for all aspects of READING EMERGENCY UNIT, INC. including programs, finance, resource development, human resources, member services and communications.


Acadian Ambulance Service

To provide appropriate, efficient and timely pre-hospital Advanced, Intermediate and Basic Life Support care and transportation of the sick and injured in accordance with local, state, national, and Acadian Ambulance standards of practice.

Starting pay for EMTs is $38,900*, with an average annual compensation of $40,900*.

Starting pay for a Paramedic is $62,900*, with an average annual compensation of $68,900*.

2. Plus $1/hour (approx $2,500) in hazard pay from federal stimulus funds


City of Baytown

Baytown, TX

The City of Baytown, TX is now seeking candidates who possess the qualifications and talent to join the elite ranks of the Baytown Fire Department as a Firefighter/Paramedic.

Paramedics and those who have Paramedic Course Completion are invited to Apply.  No fire experience needed.

The application period runs from May 3, 202, and closes on June 10,  2021, at 5:00 PM CST.

The Written Examination and Physical Ability Test and will be held in June 25, 2021.  

Please note the following items before you start the online application process:

Applicants who have served in the military must attach their DD-214 (long form) to the online application. Five (5) additional points will be awarded to the final score of applicants who pass the written examination whose DD-214 contains an honorable discharge and at least 180 days of consecutive active service. The application will be incomplete if the DD-214 is not attached.

Applicants must  provide the license number issued by the Texas Department of State Health Services or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians if you have valid EMT certification.
